Dirt Work Done Right — So the Rest of Your Project Starts on Solid Ground

Most fencing jobs look straightforward on paper — until you walk the property and find overgrown brush, old debris piles, uneven grade, or a fence line that runs straight through terrain that needs to be reshaped before a single post goes in the ground. If the land is not ready, the fence is not going to go in clean.

A3 Fencing offers land leveling and clearing as a standalone service and as a first phase of our fencing projects. We bring the equipment, the experience, and the know-how to clear brush, remove stumps and debris, grade uneven lots, and level ground for fence lines, pads, driveways, or any other use you have planned for the property.

Whether you need a few acres cleared to get your land back under control, a lot leveled before we install your new fence, or a rural parcel prepped for future building — we handle the site work so you are not juggling multiple contractors to get the ground ready.

A Fence Is Only as Good as the Ground Underneath It

Skipping site prep is one of the fastest ways to turn a clean fencing job into a headache. Posts set into undisturbed brush roots shift over time. Panels installed across uneven grade leave gaps underneath that animals slip through. Gates swing wrong on ground that was never leveled. The fence looked fine on day one and looks rough six months later.

Doing the leveling and clearing the right way upfront pays off for years. It also means you only need one contractor on the property instead of coordinating between a grading outfit and a fencing crew — and it means the person installing your fence knows exactly what was done to the ground before the first post went in.

What you get when A3 Fencing handles the site prep

On-site assessment before we quote

We walk the property with you to understand what needs to come out, how uneven the grade is, and what you want the finished site to look like. No sight-unseen quotes — the price we give you is based on the actual conditions.

Right equipment for the job

Skid steers, tractors, box blades, brush cutters, and stump grinders — scaled to the property and the scope. We do not show up under-equipped and we do not bring oversized machinery onto a small residential lot.

Debris hauled and disposed of properly

Brush, stumps, old debris, and pulled material are loaded up and hauled off-site to a legal disposal location — we do not leave piles behind for you to deal with. The site is clean and ready to use when we finish.

One crew from clearing to finished fence

If fencing is part of the plan, the same company handles everything from the first pass of brush removal through the last gate hardware — no finger-pointing between a grading sub and a fencing sub when something does not line up.

Leveling and Clearing Services for Any Kind of Property

From prepping a fence line on a residential lot to clearing acres of overgrown brush on a rural parcel, A3 Fencing takes on the site work that gets land ready for whatever is next.

Fence Line Leveling

We grade uneven ground along the fence line so posts set plumb, panels run straight, and there are no gaps underneath. Done right, your fence looks level and stays level — even across sloped or rough terrain.

Brush & Vegetation Clearing

Overgrown brush, tall weeds, and tangled vegetation cleared down to usable ground. Whether it is a narrow fence corridor or several acres of neglected property, we take it from unusable to open.

Stump & Root Removal

Old stumps and heavy root systems ground out or pulled so the site is ready for posts, pads, or planting. No more working around obstacles that should have been taken care of years ago.

Lot Grading & Leveling

Rough grading to knock down high spots, fill in low spots, and leave the lot workable. Good for properties being prepped for a building pad, driveway, pasture, or just a useable yard.

Debris Removal & Haul-Off

Old fence material, concrete chunks, abandoned junk, brush piles — we load it up and haul it away. The site is left clean and ready for the next step, not stacked with piles you still have to deal with.

Rural & Acreage Clearing

Larger parcels that have gone untouched — weeds, volunteer trees, old debris — cleared and opened back up. Great for landowners getting ready to fence pasture, run livestock, or finally put a neglected back portion of the property to use.

Fence Prep or Standalone Site Work — We Do Both

Most of our leveling and clearing work rolls into a larger fencing project, and that is where our process is most efficient — one crew, one schedule, one contact, and the person grading the ground is the same person who installs the fence. That kind of continuity saves money and avoids the finger-pointing that can happen between separate trades.

But we also take on standalone clearing and leveling work for customers who just need their land opened up. Maybe you bought a parcel that has been neglected for years. Maybe a section of your property has grown over and needs to come back under control. Maybe you are prepping ground for a pad, driveway, garden, or future build — not a fence at all. We are happy to do the dirt work whether or not fencing is part of the plan.

Give us a call to walk the property together. We will give you an honest assessment of what the site needs, a straightforward quote, and a realistic timeline for getting it done.

Common questions from property owners about land leveling and clearing in the Central Valley.

Do I have to use A3 for fencing if you do the clearing?

No. Plenty of our clearing and leveling customers are not fencing customers — they just want their land cleaned up and leveled for another purpose. That said, if you are planning fencing, having the same crew handle both phases is usually the most efficient and cost-effective option.

How much does it cost to clear and level a property?

It depends on acreage, how overgrown the site is, what needs to come out (stumps, debris, old material), and how much grading the ground needs. We do not give sight-unseen prices because every property is different. The best way to get an accurate quote is a quick site visit — we walk the property with you and give you a straightforward number.

Do you handle hauling off the brush and debris?

Yes. Everything we cut, pull, or dig out gets loaded up and hauled off to a legal disposal site. You are not left with burn piles, brush mounds, or a pile of stumps to figure out on your own. The site is clean when we leave.

Can you clear a rural parcel that has been untouched for years?

Yes — that is one of the things we do most often. Properties that have sat idle for a long time usually have overgrown brush, volunteer trees, old fence scraps, or dumped debris to deal with. We have the equipment to take on larger acreage and get it back under control.

Will you level a lot even if I am not building or fencing yet?

Absolutely. A lot of property owners want their land graded and cleared before they have fully figured out what is going in — future pasture, a future garden, a future pad. Rough grading now makes the next project easier whenever you are ready for it, and keeps the property from growing back over in the meantime.
