Control Who Enters Your Property Without Leaving Your Vehicle

A gate that requires you to stop, get out, and manually open it every time you come and go is a gate that often gets left open — which defeats the entire purpose. Automated gate systems eliminate that friction entirely, giving you full control over property access without inconvenience.

A3 Fencing installs complete automated gate systems — we are not just hanging an operator on an existing gate. We assess your gate, your opening, your power situation, and your access control needs, then build a system that is properly sized, correctly wired, and set up to work reliably from day one.

We work with industry-leading operators from brands including LiftMaster, FAAC, and Viking Access, and we integrate access control options ranging from simple keypads and remote controls to intercom systems, loop detectors, and smartphone-based entry systems. Whether it is a residential driveway, a ranch entrance, or a commercial facility, we design the system around how the gate will actually be used.

Everything Your Automated Gate System Can Include

We design each system around your specific property and usage requirements. Here is a look at what a complete automated gate installation can include.

Gate Operators

Swing, slide, and overhead operators from LiftMaster, FAAC, Viking Access, and other trusted brands. We size the operator correctly for the weight, width, and frequency of use of your gate.

Keypads & PIN Entry

Wired and wireless keypad entry systems for secure, code-based access. Multiple user codes can be programmed for family members, employees, or service personnel — and revoked instantly when needed.

Remote Controls

Standard remote transmitters for convenient vehicle access. We program remotes for all household or fleet vehicles and can add more at any time without a service call.

Smartphone & App Control

Smart gate systems that let you open, close, and monitor your gate from your phone — from anywhere. Ideal for rental properties, vacation homes, or anyone who wants remote visibility into who is accessing their property.

Intercom & Video Entry

Audio and video intercom systems that let you see and speak with visitors before granting access. We integrate intercom and camera systems with the gate operator so everything works as a single unified system.

Solar Power Options

For remote ranch entrances and properties where running power to the gate is impractical, we install solar-powered gate operator systems that run reliably in California’s sunny climate without utility hookup.

Loop Detectors & Safety Sensors

Vehicle detection loops, photo-eye safety sensors, and edge protection devices that prevent the gate from closing on a vehicle or person. Required for commercial applications and strongly recommended for all installations.

Service & Maintenance

We service and repair automated gate systems — including systems we did not originally install. If your operator has failed, your gate is behaving erratically, or your access control system needs updating, contact us for a service call.

Have questions about automated gate systems? We have answered the most common ones below. Reach out if you need more detail.

Can you automate my existing gate?

In many cases, yes. Whether an existing gate can be automated depends on its weight, balance, and structural condition. We assess the gate before recommending automation — if the gate is not properly built or balanced, we will let you know whether repair or replacement is the smarter path before adding an operator.

What type of gate operator do I need?

The right operator depends on whether your gate swings or slides, how heavy it is, how wide the opening is, and how frequently the gate will be used. A residential driveway gate that opens a few times a day has very different requirements than a commercial facility gate in continuous use. We spec the operator correctly for your application.

Do automated gates need a power connection?

Most operators run on standard 120V AC power, which requires a dedicated circuit run to the gate location. For remote locations where running power is impractical, we offer solar-powered operator systems that perform reliably in California’s climate. We assess the power situation during the site visit.

What happens if the gate loses power?

Quality gate operators include battery backup systems that allow the gate to continue operating during a power outage. We also install manual release mechanisms on every automated gate so the gate can always be opened by hand if needed.

Can I control the gate from my phone?

Yes. We install smart gate systems compatible with LiftMaster MyQ and similar app-based platforms that let you open, close, and monitor your gate remotely from a smartphone. You can also grant temporary access to guests or service providers without sharing a code.

Do you service automated gates you did not install?

Yes. We provide service and repair for automated gate systems regardless of who installed them originally. If your operator has failed, your access control is malfunctioning, or your gate is not operating correctly, contact us for a service call.
